Looking for a project that is a turn-key assembled build or maybe one of our largest cabin or cottage kits? This category is where you may find some discounted Scratch-n-Dent items that are ready to ship and are over $50,000. Scratch-n-dent items are either post and beam buildings that are built at our factory, or may be pre-cut kits that are pre-packaged for immediate delivery. We usually like to have one or two examples of buildings on display for viewing that fall within this price range.
In the past we have had the largest building that can be assembled at our factory and shipped over the road on display at our factory. It was a 14×40, 560 square foot Xylia, built on a steel frame with double axles. You could say it was a big tiny house on wheels. It was set up like a studio apartment with one large living area with a murphy bed, walk in closet, and a spacious kitchen. The bathroom included a full bath tub, toilet and sink, along with washer and drier hook ups. The building was fully insulated, plumbed and included an electrical package and direct vent propane heat.
It is likely you will find our Solar Cabin on display as well. This is our off-grid turn key option. This design comes fully insulated with energy efficient, double pane windows and a nine-lite steel door. Some sizes will include a six-foot deep by fourteen foot wide screened in porch. The building includes a living area with small kitchenette and woodstove. A small bedroom with attached bathroom and composting toilet are also included with the standard design. A basic solar package lights up the cottage.
