5X10 Chicken Coop
Our collection of small coops is perfect for the backyard homesteader or urban farmer. Each coop comes with a small chicken door that turns into a ramp when opened. Secure your flock from wild predators with these tried and true hen houses.
This 5×10 chicken Coop design is compact enough to fit in most yards while providing a few birds a comfortable abode. The 3×5 enclosed area provides the chickens with a place to bed down, while the 5×7 open area allows them fresh air and contact with their natural surroundings. The cottage style chicken coop can be moved around in the yard to give the chickens fresh ground to cover. If your space is limited, the shed roof design allows it to easily be pushed up against another building. In the colder months, lining the bottom of the coop with hay will keep your fowl friends comfortable. Consider customizing your coop by adding nesting boxes to the interior of this design.
Whether raising chickens and rabbits, or cows and horses, protection from the elements is essential for keeping animals healthy and productive. A small shed can make a spacious bunny hutch where your rabbits can play sleep and hide when not in their run. If you raise chickens, quail, turkeys, geese or other poultry for eggs, providing comfortable nesting boxes in a safe coop will encourage the birds to nest inside rather than look for an alternative outdoor location, which could attract predators.
From the smallest chicken coops to the largest stall barns, our buildings are made from rot-resistant Vermont Hemlock and Pine providing sufficiently warm, dry, and well-ventilated conditions to fit your livestock needs. Their simple interiors are easy to clean, helping to protect your animals from disease and parasites. They’re also structurally sound enough to keep out large or crafty predators such as foxes and raccoons.
Offered as frame only kits, complete pre-cut kits, or step-by-step plans nationwide, our outdoor post and beam livestock solutions reflect the quality craftsmanship and traditional aesthetic of colonial New England. If you live in our Northeast delivery area, consider purchasing fully assembled and delivered to your prepared site. The natural wood tones of Vermont pine and hemlock are attractive by themselves, but the buildings are easily painted to harmonize with your home. Black hinges, padlock-able turn latches, and other hardware add a touch of rustic elegance. Browse our livestock kits, plans and prefab models today to get started.
